To me the song is about depression and how he doesn't know how tell people that he needs help. Reading between the lines of his actions. All he seems to do is hurt everyone around him and he tries to do what he feels is right but he always ends up hurting someone and he wants them to know he didn't mean to do that. To me right now in my life. Whenever I listen to this song I think of how all the shit going on in my life with my relationship (girlfriend is allegedly cheating on me), my financial issues (recently got into a car crash and I need to pay over 4 grand to completely fix my car), my home life (I have physically and verbally abusive parents), my schoolwork (I'm all AP classes and I can't pay attention in class anymore due to previous issues clouding my mind all times). And now I have so many people telling me how to live my life. So this song really helps by saying to me that if people are dragging you down, get rid of them or your depression will get worse and none of your problems will be fixed and you will just drown in everything |

@[hobbes67:8845] The way I relate is pretty similar. My girl friend told me that she was planning on leaving me and then changed her mind. Ever since then my insecurity of her leaving me has become huge. I think thats how the lines I wish you never told me
I wish i never knew relate to me. And then at night especially I get the thought of her ingrained in my head which makes it hard for me to fall asleep so that's I can't sleep here anymore. And when it says when jt comes back you won't be scared and lonely. I see that as a metaphor as when my confidence comes back I won't be so scared of losing her or feel lonely when she's not around. And the verses I feel "it" is a metaphor for the thought of her leaving
