I believe this song is about a boy and a girl in a relationship for awhile, and the boy changed, and is about to lose her, so the girl wanting this boy to be everything that's perfect to her, as in her idle partner. And this boy so in love with her, is trying his hardest to do so by saying "What you want, what you need, has been killing me.Trying to be everything that you want me to be" He will do anything for her and her affections, even if it's not him or what he's into, "I'll say yes, I'll undress, I've done more for less, and I will change everything till it's perfect again." The boy then being so close to quitting and giving up on her, no longer caring just contradicts himself with "I hate the way that I say I should stay, when I know I don't give a fuck about it anyway" But then the girl pulls him right back in again, and he'll begin doing anything and everything for her again, to prove he's hers, and killing himself in the process "I shake hands, I shoot smiles all around as I sell my body by the pound.
