Cartel – Wasted Lyrics 10 years ago
This song is talking about how easy it is to live life wasted. We never know the moment we'll get in a car crash or if we'll die in the night. All of us live as if tomorrow is a guarantee, so instead of living in the moment we wait until the day before we die to really start living. And before we know it we're thirty or ninety five and we realize we've never actually felt alive.

Linkin Park – Lost In The Echo Lyrics 10 years ago
To me this song is about an abusive relationship and fighting the pull of it, learning to identify yourself apart from that. The song talks about knowing his hell. His hell is that he is stuck in an endless cycle as his abuser promises to change but never does. Their words are deep but feeble, fragile with no substance. They get lost in the echo of another lie, another truth that will never be. His part is believing them again and again but he says I'm done with that. I'm going to be strong and fight back against everything that you tried to make me to be. He doesn't know any other way out but to fight.

A Fine Frenzy – The Beacon Lyrics 10 years ago
This song is about someone who loves someone who doesn't know how to love. This person is her light, her all. The beacon in her life, her guide. The other person, however, can't see their own worth. They were raised without knowing love and now can't accept hers. They feel like they're not worth having around but she says you are. You are worth it. Can't you see how much I need you?

Mumford & Sons – White Blank Page Lyrics 10 years ago
I love how simple yet complex this song is. It's about unrequited love. The guy loved someone who didn't love him enough to be faithful. He wonders if it was really worth it. Did that other person gain what they were looking for in someone else? And I'm guessing that the person also claims to be a person of faith. So basically the singer is saying this: alright fine, I get it, you cheated on me. But while you can lie to me, you can't lie to God. So can you kneel before your king and tell him you're not guilty?

Bastille – The Silence Lyrics 10 years ago
I think this song is about an estranged relationship. The person speaking is on the proverbial outside looking in as he sees this person he loves slowly coming apart inside. The person whom he's speaking to has had to walk through life alone and learned to rely on themselves. The speaker is begging them to talk, say something or anything to let him in past their walls. To rely on someone else for a change.

Evanescence – Tourniquet Lyrics 10 years ago
This song isn't specifically Christian or secular. This song is about somebody who believed in God but then they walked away. Life got in the way, they made mistakes- either way now where they're at is in too deep and too far gone so that they're not sure if even asking for forgiveness from God is okay. But for some reason they still believe that God is the only home who can turn them from suicide. It's simply a desperate cry from someone who has nothing left to lose.

Capital Lights – The Night of Your Life Is When You'll Die Lyrics 10 years ago
I think this song is a God-centered song. No, it doesn't directly reference to Him, but still it brings in a lot of room for discussion to Christians. How much of your life are you living for God and how much are you living just to satisfy yourself? So many of us live day to day serving things that aren't God and then we lie to ourselves and pretend like we are when we're really serving the created. The name of the song says it all: living to have the time of your life is foolish; you never know if this night will be the last night of your life.

Lifehouse – Simon Lyrics 10 years ago
Even though this song's title is Simon, I've never interpreted it to be about a specific person. This song has always been, to me, about bullying.
Especially when it says "the weak will seeker til they've broken them" who else does that but a bully? People who see something in themselves which they lack and then envy in someone else so they tear that person down. It's all about other people building kingdoms off of the ones they've broken down. And the victim of their actions ends up suffering an shutting themselves inside of a cage because they can't cope. They put up this facade of being strong when they're really hurting.
I love this song so much because it's a show of solidarity to those being bullied. Each one of us will at some point be a victim of someone else. This song tells us we're not alone in how we feel. And no matter what other people say that we lack or how hard their words those things aren't true. words
