This song is meant to sound like a cheesy, pop, love song but its far from love. Its more about the love he has for endings. "Watch out now I see the light at the end of the tunnel" "I think i've found, The perfect way, To grow old." This is implying that suicide is the best option for him. The perfect way he can grow old. The main character suffers from depression, a mental illness or keeps a secret about something which is crippling him into giving him these thoughts. "That is different but similar To the same one I took before" In his past he attempted suicide but failed. He had chosen a similar path before but failed to kill himself. This time though he is certain he will succeed. "when we're alone its too hard to resist" When he is alone with himself suicide, self harm is all he thinks about. Almost every single lyric talks about suicide. That is the true message of this song. A trapped person that had now decided to make the final decision in life and to end it all. |
