So my son has a rare autoimmune disease where his spleen destroys his platelets, holding him back from doing normal kid things like soccer, baseball, moon bounces, etc. When I first heard this song I thought "my son could have written this." For me, this song is about a kid who just wants to be a kid. He wants to be like everyone else, but he can't. And so people look up to him and praise him for handling everything so well but really the kid just wants to be a kid. That's my spin. ;) |
