Just adding in, "The thing you have to get straight Is that you don't own my hand." He's pointing out the evils of hyper-collectivization. If the government can take away everything you own at whim just because they fucking feel like or because you didn't pay your Goddamned 'rent' to them on the goddamned land you supposedly fucking own it's wrong. |

"The problem with society's been how we teach and live and believe" -> A general statement of how we've been not teaching children to the right things and we've been failing to do and understand the right things ourselves "We'll fight this battle for years to come until we all accept we can stand on our own" ->We won't quit until we show everyone they can be the best they can be and how they can be as independent as possible "Grandfather used his hands, he worked them to the bone. To provide his family with a happy home, alone." -> Likely about how hard his grandfather worked to keep his family alive and healthy. But the ominous alone I think is where the statement gets interesting. That ALONE. He did the work ALONE. What could this mean? "Don't take your aggression out on me, My old man is all I meant to be" ->obvious "This common place is so lazy, old and tired All your ideas are so FUCKING uninspired. " ->Try thinking about his Grandfather working ALONE and the lazy part. Link that back to common place. Think about how they might relate (hint hint people not pulling their weight?) "Takes more than one idea More than one person to fight the fight " ->I think that just about confirms my point. "Don't try and get me confused. Cause I do understand. And sometimes people need help. That they may need a hand When this problems going on." -> This is good ol' A7x reminding us he realizes people will need help learning how to take care of themselves. We'll all have to help each other to build a better life for ourselves and everyone around us. You can stand on your OWN (be independent) without ever BEING alone. |
