Interesting take ZeGerman. However Philip Labonte explained during a 2013 interview that it was a song specifically directed against Islam. That it was written as a tribute/protest because when it was written he himself had recently lost a friend who was in the service. He said the song was an expression of his grief, and anger, and that while he was not anti-Muslim he felt that the radicals who "murdered" his friend were themselves following a false god, so no, your take is at least according to the guy who wrote the song, not correct. Its a song written about resisting radical Islam and what is reaped from that. Frankly a brave choice and bold admission in a world so quick to label someone a bigot simply for being angry and having an opinion. |
