I'm not so sure about the end of the chorus 'Maybe they'll leave you alone, but not me'. Is he saying he wasn't left alone or that they get away with dressing awesomely bc they're teenagers but he doesn't or is he saying he won't leave them alone? It's probably really obvious but...I'm dumb. And it probably says further down in the comments but I'm ridiculously lazy... |

@[minewiki:2275] I agree with the idea of it being 2 sides of Brendon, and I think it's kind of about him trying to loose 'her' who fucks stuff up. It makes sense with the dead body in the video, or maybe 'she' killed him as 'Mary did it'. In this case the chorus would sort of mean [say what you mean, tell me i'm right] 'tell me I did the right thing loosing part of myself' [let the sun rain down on me] 'let me be happier now 'she'/'he' is gone [give me a sign i want to believe] still unsure of whether killing 'him'/'her' was the right thing and wanting reassurance. |

I think he's kind of just saying pull yourself together but it's not in an angry way, it's kind of like, I've given my sympathy long enough, you can make yourself ok now, you don't need any one else's help anymore - stop trying to get it, you're strong enough... |
