| The metaphor refers to satellites, which circle across the night sky through the cold and darkness of space all alone. "Satellite call" is a radio sequence sent from Earth to communicate with the satellite, like a beacon saying "We're still here". When she hums the melody, I think she's making her own "beacon" sound sequence which she similarly sends out to people who are in a cold and dark place in their own lives. A brilliant song. | |
