listening to this song again, i dont know how can so many people think only in punk rock, instead of think what the song is saying beyond is punk or not, i think the song is about having this subversive ideas, and being samart in a way, and realizing that those things might not be enough to actually make a change, and its kinda disappointing but if you hadnt go so far, youd never realized it. And to looking back and remember what you were willing to do could be somenthing to consider how much have youve grown, and maybe, how now you know better ways to be subversive. |

I think it's beautiful be willing to being called a fag just because you love someone, also i know this may sound pretentious, but coming from an indie band, i think that there is some kind of people who can actually handle this kind of words without find them offensive just because they dont need euphemisms, i think that kinda gives power to the message. |

Of course i don't think that's the meaning of the song, but when i heard it for the first time i got the idea it was about someone who was kinda struggling and was seeing how everybody was swimming in the water, which could be living their lives or whatever. |
