After the creation of "Elastic heart", coming back to this song,which is one of my favourites ever made, i 've come to the conclusion that Sia has identity issues. She has seperate "self-states".She herself admitted it and acknowledges it,which shows that she is really smart and self-understanding.She is so creative and unique that can use her "biggest weakness", to the "normal" world, and turn it it to her biggest asset and the baseline of the maintenance of her career.I find her art extremely smart and emotional at the same time. Considering this song,we see throughout the whole song the emerge of the "Protector" self coming to the aid of the emotionally unstable vulnerable "Host" self of hers absorbing all the abuse she is taking and managing to keep her in track with her life.As long as that state of hers is by her side,she "has nothing to lose" no matter how much anyone "fires away" on her and she feels like "Titanium". Again, this is another one of her songs enforced with a powerful meaning of hope and strength for everyone.She is really amazing.Any other thoughts? |

"Elastic heart" is a song with tremendous meaning which,for the better,is not really specified, but can adapt to any person's thoughts and experiences.To me,I see traits of bipolarity,dissociation with identity issues and borderline personality characteristics.Somewhere i read a comment stating that "art is supposed to disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed". Knowing a little bit about Sia's disturbed past concerning alchool,I can get where she is coming from with songs so powerful like "Elastic heart", "Breathe me", "Chandelieur" and "Titanium". She exposes her soul and her troubles to everyone through her lyrics of the songs and gives a note of hope to everyone with similar problems.I think a lot of people with high EQ and active EPs, due to psychological traumatization, that operate regularly, can reach her level of understanding the deeper meanings of her songs and can successfully draw strength from her message through every song and keep going on with their lives as best as they can.Congratulations to this amazing woman who,by bearing her "elastic heart" to the audiences,manages to give hope to so many people suffering from all kinds of deprression... |
