My current theme song. Personally I take it as a song about leaving abusive relationships. I've recently done that. Happiness has hit me, no turning back. I've hidden around corners and under beds. I've drank to escape the abuse. He is now leaving town. My dog days are over. I had to run. I ran for my mother (who went through the same thing). I ran for my sisters in hope they never have to deal with this. I ran for my children. I now leave my love and longing for a relationship behind to focus on the fact im a survivor, myself, and the life my children and I deserve. The only thing he ever wanted from me was everything I had and what little soul I had left in the end. I hear the horses coming..my dog days are over. One day hopefully I'll be able to help someone else escape. |
