I think that this song is (in simple words)about a man who loves another man, but he also is devoted to and wants to stay true to his religion, his church, which does not allow homosexuality. As for the "she" he refers to, I think she is some sort of religous figure, a love goddess, who is kind of guiding him in different directions, as she knows that true love can be anyone with anyone. For the "we were born sick..", it basically means he knows being gay is a sin to his religion, and he knows that he'll be punished for it, ("I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife" and "the only heaven I'll be sent to is when I'm alone with you") but he wants his love. The chorus, to me, seems like he wants to admit his sins to the church, but then he wants his love and will accept the punishment of not getting to go to heaven, his love is his heaven. |

The line is "Your'e gonna sing the words wrong" but the video is just showing that the words are wrong because thats the lyric so they put in "Your'e gonna sank the world's wolf" to show that indeed, the lyrics are being sang wrong. | |
