| I'd read that a lot of this album was inspired by paranoia and depression. Perhaps it's about tranquility and mood swings. I don't know, but the song certainly feels like its title. My fave off that album. | |

@[ireallydontknow:3658] I've analyzed this countless times, and I've come to a few conclusions: 1. The subject is a murderer, you can take that literally, or take your "universal" approach, and apply it as humans are murderers, literal and figurative, and we are always on the run from our actions and demons. 2. The "Please please me" line is a reference to the Beatles. Not only because it is, but because the Angels are influenced by BJM, and Anton LOVES pastiches and references (recall "Straight Up and Down" long version, which incorporates Sympathy For the Devil as well as Hey Jude in its outtro). So, by the third property of algebra, they are paying homage to both classic bands and their personal faves in doing so. 3. My favorite point: The first album was at least partly a concept album about war and death, and so I feel that they are continuing that theme. Then again, every album by them has these as themes on at least one track. Hope this helps, and happy listening! |
