| Fall Out Boy – Centuries Lyrics | 5 years ago |

It's about sexual abuse and trauma. The narrator is a bitter loser. He's confused and frustrated that real life isn't like a Mötley Crüe song ("Heavy metal broke my heart") He's a creep with no friends, terrified of dying forgotten. So he decides if he can find someone young and/or damaged enough to be interested in him, he can traumatize her to the extent she'll carry the memory the rest of her life. It won't matter if he dies alone in the gutter, he will live on in the lives he ruined. It's an incel anthem. Which is really too bad. It's a catchy tune. I kind of regret looking at the lyrics now. |

| L7 – (Right on) Thru Lyrics | 6 years ago |
|
Do these lyrics come from L7? 'Cause some of them don't sound like what I'm hearing. "I give em a shot too?" I hear that verse as I had some pigeons livin' on my ledge (Right on thru) Dirty winged rats living on the edge (Right on thru) I keep my window shut, bolted and screwed (Right on thru) The pigeon shit seeps right on through Anyway, they meaning is pretty straight forward. If you obsess on avoiding your problems rather than dealing with them, it just makes them worse. |

| The Pretty Reckless – Heaven Knows Lyrics | 6 years ago |

Do these lyrics come from The Pretty Reckless? 'Cause some of them don't sound like what I'm hearing. "Big Mental?" I hear that verse as One, two, three and four The devil's knocking at your door Caught in the eye of a dead man's lie You start your life with your head up high Now you're on your knees With your head hung low Big man tells you where to go Tell him it's good Tell him okay Don't do a God damn thing they say Anyway, I take this song to be about people in bad situations who feel they deserve it because (for whatever reason) they aren't living up to the expectations of the world around them. Not rich? Not pretty? Self medicating? That's your fault and you deserve what you get. People hear that enough and they believe it. Failure becomes self-perpetuating. |

| I don't suppose anyone has a translation for the mantra near the end? It sounds to me like Sanskrit, but I can't seem to locate find a translator online. | |
