If I want to feel a song in my lower abdomen I play this song. Something about the tone and mellow melody hits me. There are lots of depressing songs but how many are so forthright about everything. | The true beauty of this band is the idiosyncratic songwriting style. It’s like “television” if you listen to the marquee moon album. But it seems like he decided how a song should be written and wrote two hundred songs then read the book on how the Beatles did it after. It’s like how Alex Ross said the Beatles destroyed music. Car seat headrest rewrote song structure. When is the chorus coming. Is there a chorus. Why is this so catchy if there is no chorus. It’s alienating for some but just listen. Give it a chance and you’ll be as obsessed as I am. Screw the whales whatever fat people they represent they don’t mean to cause you pain. | |

| The lines of lyrics are lovely. Phoebe Bridgers the brighter eyes of a twenty ten foreseer looking back at other Rhymers past. A rhythm that only Connor could bring to so simplify such a complex rhyme. The genius of the song is the simple tough to rhyme lyrics. But where mostly rhyme matters. The song feels like connors but the gravitas is all phoebe’s and to be honest her peak songwriting ability is as high as Connor’s even if she’s young. She’s another in a grouping of early twenty something female songwriters, who can outwrite anyone on the planet. Dylan Thomas was a killer welsh but listen to car seat headrest. It doesn’t have to be this way I’m a drunk typer, killer whales. Conor oberst, bright eyes, phoebe bridgers, boygenius, I referenced car seat headrest.
