The tone of this song makes me feel like it is about someone who has come to a crossroads or turning point in his life. He spent a night getting drunk staying up to sunrise, both lamenting and celebrating the event. He is wistful of the past but also excited about the future. That's what the general tone of the song feels like to me, although the precise meanings of the lyrics I have not considered. |

I think this song is about viewing the world always changing around you and being lost in your identity. Whether this is due to growing up and watching peers change around you in high school, the pressures of fame and being in the public eye, or something else, I think this song is relatable to many different circumstances. |

I agree with this interpretation and had a similar interpretation in high school when I first heard this song too. Everyone seemed to be constantly changing around me and I felt lost in my own identity too. |
