| Sondre Lerche – Just Like Lazenby Lyrics | 8 years ago |

After starring in On Her Majesty's Secret Service George Lazenby turned down a multi-picture, multi-million dollar deal to keep playing James Bond. It was 1969 and Lazenby was convinced by his manager that Bond would no longer be relevant in the 1970s so he walked away from it all and lived out the rest of his life in relative obscurity (at least compared to the other actors who portrayed 007 and went on to prosperous careers afterwards). He also managed to piss off pretty much everyone he worked with on the film hence the lyrics: "Burning every bridge. Endless opportunities I squandered on the way to this event. Just like Lazenby." Weird sad story. Some people say his was the worst Bond movie. Others say it may have been the best. Only time will tell... |

| @[Heinrich:1701] I've been trying to figure this out for years as well. I think she's referring to a "measure" of liquor. Think of James Bond ordering a drink in Casino Royale when he says to put "a measure" of Gordon's gin in his martini. SO in this context I think someone's asking her whether she'd rather go to a movie or have a drink. I'd say have both! | |
