@[mikebeacon:1638] I can't believe YOU did not get this one. He obviously died! "The stars in the sky bring tears to my eyes, they're lighting my way, tonight." Where is he going, why are the stars guiding him? "And I haven't felt so alive, in years." Because he died when he was an old man. Now, moments after his death, he is exiting his body full of life again. How can you see the moon and the stars when it is raining? Then the song says," Reminding me of so many other nights, but they're NOT like tonight." Why is tonight so special? Because he just died. He is ALONE. Now relisten to the song with that in mind. He dies on the sidewalk in the rain. Each verse takes his soul higher through the atmosphere to the heavens, with the stars guiding him and the moon as his anchor. What is SO friggin important is the last words. "Well my eyes have been so red, I've been mistaken for dead, BUT NOT TONIGHT." Then as his soul leaves the upper atmosphere to the stars, the entire last verse is him rejoicing, Oh, oh, oh..oh... " The man is elated he made it to the heavens with the stars. |
