I think that, in line with a lot of the themes of their music, this has spiritual significance, particularly about reincarnation, and the nature of storytelling in the human experience. He relents that all the things people say, are the same old stories that have always been told and that it gets boring. From a formal standpoint, one of the times he said "just let me go" an effect was over-layed onto the lyric that referred to an Indian instrumental scale, referencing likely Indian spirituality including Samsara and reincarnation. There's existential uncertainty and a will to be released from a tedious repetition. Not necessarily through suicide as other have said, and likely more a large concept than simply a break up. A lot of the music in this album, and of their music in general refers to eastern and new age spirituality and generally psychedelic concepts. Try not to ever assume they are speaking very plainly. |
