To start off, my interpretation may be wrong, but since English is not my first language, I consider myself excused. :P Well, the obvious meaning is war, but I find some Metallica lyrics that seems to be about war, but can be interpreted differently. This is one of them. Could the whole "war" be a metaphor? I'm thinking STD's. Especially the last line of the 3rd verse: Alone I clench my gun... :P Another song that could be interpreted this way is No Remorse. "Blood fills the war machine". |
