Grandaddy – Way We Won't Lyrics 6 years ago
I think he moved away and it was hard for him to leave. He's toiling over whether he should move back home and he looks at it as a lose-lose. He's saying life is so much better where he moved to and this the 'way we won't' move back home. The song has a bittersweet nostalgic/embracing the melancholic present state of affairs and hat mesmerizing guitar riff leans towards the fucked either way deal he's describing.

Faded Paper Figures – North By North Lyrics 7 years ago
North by North isn't an actual cardinal direction. That could imply that whatever direction they are gonna take, as long as they dont settle down. And by sticking around he says they can sail without the wind, which isnt saying a lot. He asks her to go away with him. Her response is a little sardonic. He was content in the past but now isnt, but she'll go away anyways because she doesnt have much to hold her back. Him being someone is good enough for her. She, meanwhile is depressed and and is in a hole. And hes offering to get her away from mess she has found herself in.

The Flaming Lips – Brainville Lyrics 8 years ago
adding that I agree this about college. Before seeing the comments, I thought it was about going to some happy state of mind where it might not seem that great, but once you're there it's pretty good and best thing overall
