| I disagree with the last comment. Don't think this song has anything at all to do with that unfortunate incident with Great White. Rather, it's about *why* the Weakerthans stopped touring for so long. They lost the urge to. "I lost the chiming ring of keys to everything..." says it all. JKS lost his enthusiasm for all of those trappings of being a touring band; the beer-soaked cables, the hot venue atmosphere, the roadies loading up their equipment after each show, the overtold jokes, et cetera. He wanted to be back home. That's what I think this song is about. It's an explanation for their absence. | |
