| Talking Heads – I Feel It in My Heart Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| I could be wrong, but I don't think that this is a happy song. First of all, I believe that the vocals, the bass and the keyboards, all convey a warm yet bittersweet, melancholic, nostalgic feeling. In my opinion, this beautiful song is about accepting an end, or your own limits (there won't be anything for me and you), what you can do and what you simply can't. They way I perceive it, it is about trying to figure out things, or yourself even perhaps, pulling yourself together and trying to move on, accepting yourself and staying true to yourself. It's about trying not to let things bring you down and moving on. And in this way, it is not a pessimistic song, despite the fact that it does in a sense revolve around pointlessness, but a reflective song that consoles and heals. It is not in itself carefree, but it tells us that ultimately stuff can go wrong and that there's no point in beating yourself up about it, if you have done the best you could and pursued what was in your heart, if you couldn't have done anything else. For me, it's like a warm hug, after something has gone wrong. | |
