I think this song is about a woman who is alone and stays in her bed fantasizing about the man next door "Hold it, I'm about to drop off Let me tell you my last thought Drift into a deep fog Lost where I forgot to hold it I can feel you most when I'm alone" sounds like an introduction to her day-dreaming...drifting into a deep fog (dream) which she drops off into. "Coming home 'cause I want to Hang out with a starlet Stare up at the ceiling Preview of a screening Flashback of a feeling Sick sense of a calling" Fantasies/daydream about meeting with the man or just what she's doing while thinking of him. Preview of a screening and Flashback of a feeling all are like scenarios she's thinking up "I heard you fuck through the wall, I Heard you fuck" she must listen and has literally heard the guy next door. "When I'm bored I send vibrations In your direction From the satellite mind" She's trying to send the guy messages (sounds are vibrations) with her mind which broadcasts like a satellite. "I'm not suicidal I just can't get out of bed I drift into a deep fog Lost where I forgot to hold it I can feel you when I'm alone I can fell your ghost when I'm alone" Same thing at the start, drifting off into another daydream or fantasy. She stays in bed because her dreams are better than what she would otherwise be doing, and with her imagination she can feel this guy when she's alone. "When your voice Became vibrations From the satellite mind From the satellite mind It sounded like mine" so she knows all these attempts at ESP with her satellite mind isn't working even when she DOES get a telepathic response from the man "When your voice Became vibrations, from the satellite mind" she knows it's her imagination "When your voice,Became vibrations...It sounded like mine" In the end of the song it seems as if she comes to terms with it. She realizes that the imagining and dreaming isn't paying off and she just hears what she wants to, almost as if she's talking to herself. and keep in mind the Album's name is "FANTASIES" |
