Hello everybody ! First ...thank you all very much for your views ... I guess everything expressed here "enriches", adds to our "secondhand?" experience ... Maybe a symbolic net ought to catch nothing is all we have to relieve us from our ever- stretchable conscience, self-awareness, and so on, yada yada yada ... And, yes, I sometimes enjoy guessing post-structuralist riddles and puns ... And although I can't neither stand nor make mine some sort of postmodern nonchalance and frivolity I guess I can use some humorism every now an then ... I mean ... All things go ... I'm a bit wasted now, I lately have being a bit back to seudo-insomnia days and nights ... I only wanted to make a point on the feeling I've got a few times that "a good sense of humour"? might "refresh" everything ... My guess is that, at least sometimes, Sufjan Stevens it's able to approach his most inner and conflicting or not thoughts, feelings and beliefs that way ... I'm mostly talking about what the lyrics of some of his songs bring to me ... And, nonetheless, it must be the conjunction of those rich and fresh, lyrics with deeply moving ( and/or risky, masterfully crafted, maximalist, minimalist ) music that makes (his) works so rewarding ... And then again I was about to forget to mention the displayed potential of the "misheard lyrics", those " strong first-level-literal-readings" : I.e. ghost vs goals, soak vs sell, etc ... Anyway, sorry about the mess ... I'm going to strum some chords that make up for this song's music while humming along pieces of the lyrics and hoping for rest .... Peace ... Thank you ! : ) |
