@[Coaler:1291] I think you did a great job with some of the interpretations but I feel the urge to throw in my two cents on a few things. First... Every man has a point, where he breaks or conjoins Among pressure that floods to complicate Matters close to the heart will define who we are Do we love. Do we hate. We are only the meat. I don't think this is Dr. Straight so much as Sirius talking. Sirius is conscious during the operation and see's Meri and her baby die. So, "Every man has a point, where he breaks or conjoins" I feel represents Sirius breaking (Before and after the accident) both at the news Meri gives him as well as her death and the death of her baby confirming everything she was saying was true as these things haunt him later in the album. "Among pressure that floods to complicate" and "Matters close to the heart will define who we are" would be Sirius realizing just what his ambition and research cost him. His life's ambition cost him the love of his life. Finally we get to "Do we love? Do we hate? We are only the meat". For me this is Sirius' anger that Dr. Straight saved him, survivors guilt more or less. "Do we love? Do we hate?" would be Sirius asking do my feelings matter to the doctor as he feels he threw his life away and wants Meri to live and "We are only the meat" being the answer that no, your feelings don't matter because you were the one that could be saved. |
