| Cyndi Lauper – Midnight Radio (Hedwig and the Angry Inch cover) Lyrics | 8 years ago |
| This is a tribute to all the strange rock and roll artists from the radio age. Listen to them at night because they won't be played during prime time. Such an awesome song. | |

| Emerson, Lake & Palmer – Karn Evil 9: Third Impression Lyrics | 10 years ago |
|
I'll give this one a shot. Part 3 of the Karn Evil 9 trilogy. This is the end of humanity. Machine beats man. Man against Man's creation. Forever we thought we would live, not ever realizing we've created our own worst enemy. Side note: I always felt the line: "Guardians of a new clear dawn" was sung specifically like "Guardians of a nuclear dawn". Both work in stating some kind of revolution will take place, but one will be utopian while the other is total annihilation. One of my favorite songs from ELP (can I say that? I love em all!!) but BSS is such an amazing album. |

| Beastie Boys – Intergalactic Lyrics | 10 years ago |

I think its a battle of words with creatures or beings from another world. They are telling them how good they are. "From The Hudson River out to the Nile I run the marathon to the very last mile Well if you battle me I feel reviled People always sayin' my style is wild You've got gaul, you've got guile If you step to me I'm going to rap full file If you want to battle you're in denial Comin' from Uranus to check my style" |

| Pearl Jam – Deep Lyrics | 10 years ago |
|
It's about people on the edge of death. People who don't care if they live or die. "On the edge..." of some lousy place, knowing nobody cares about them. But hey, "he's got a great view". It's kind of an oh well attitude. The last girl seems to realize her situation, how she got there, and truly hates where she is in her life. She doesn't like the view. All of them are on the edge of death, or some horrific event of a seemingly bottomless pit. |

| The Moody Blues – Nights In White Satin Lyrics | 10 years ago |
|
It's about a relationship that's passed. A love that's no longer in his life, and the trials one goes through when the love is not resiprecated. The song title conjures a fantasy of romantic nights in bed with pristine white sheets. The narrator sings about this love, this fantasy or memory he has for another. Writing letters, tormenting himself over her. He watches other in love, and no one can understand his hurt, his pain. "...Letters I've written Never meaning to send..." "Gazing at people, some hand in hand Just what I'm going through they can't understand Some try to tell me, thoughts they cannot defend Just what you want to be, you will be in the end" Other try to tell him to get over it, and this causes rifts with 'some'. He doesn't know why he cannot move on, but it's how he feels and it's who he is now. |

| The Moody Blues – Watching And Waiting Lyrics | 10 years ago |
|
I never knew much insight into the Mooby Blues songs, but they have always been one of my favorites. I always love the many interpretations their songs conjure. For me Watching and Waiting was was always about discovery of things. You never knew you could do the things you can, because you never tried or someone has never pointed it out to you - but it was always in front of you. In the meantime you take the low road and sit and wait for something to happen to you. Its suggesting you take things upon yourself, and get your life going. Everything you need is already here. |

| The Moody Blues – The Balance Lyrics | 10 years ago |
|
My favorite of all poems by The Moody Blues. The Balance is about finding yourself, finding out who you are and where you've come from. Self understanding and also an awareness of the earth and becoming one with it. In the first portion, he has walked this earth, journeyed through his life and stopped to finally take it all in. Questioning things he never has until this point in his life. Tasting the orange, he has tasted life and learned meaning. "And he saw magnificent perfection, Whereon he thought of himself in balance, And he knew he was." He has a true awakening here. The earth and all it has to offer has always been here. He realizes and respects what it offers to him. Behind to it and others in your life. "Just open your eyes, and realize, The way it's always been. Just open your mind and you will find The way it's always been. Just open your heart and that's a start" As you go through life, you will upset others, you will be upset by them - but in the end we are all the same. Just on a journey through life, trying to find something we can love and something to share this love with. "And with his eye of compassion He saw his enemies Like unto himself, And he learned love. Then, he was answered." The overarching theme is self awareness paired with understanding how to love and appreciate everyone and everything. It's why I love this one. |
