wel... whenever i hear this song, i can´t help but think of a man, in the middle age, who is being wrongly punished by the catholic church(saint inquisition), with lines like "Stories of old times, Black Book of Lies with no reason or rhymes" (it could mean the bible, but a wrong interpretation of it), "You have beliefs that aren´t true" being the catholic misreading the bible and, this specific part: "Why do you keep me in the agony? "The Book of true tales" How can you hate and keep me in this agony? "The Mirror of tragedy" I haven´t lied, I haven´t cheated! "The Book of true tales" What do you think? What do you see when you look in "The Mirror of tragedy" " Seems to me like him, pleading for his life or something while they just say "The Book of true tales" and "The Mirror of tragedy", like theirs is the one and only truth. But again, this don´t quite fits with some lines, like "But I am your man, and for you I do all I can " and "Standing on the station, watching your train slowly disappear", as well as your interpretations doesn´t quite fits with the chorus "the book of true tales" has nothing to do with "a relationship broken over baseless accusations". If you´ve read this far, thank you(took quite a long time to think about and write all this, more than it took for you to read it) and this is just my take on this song, i´m not saying i am rightm but this is my interpretation.
