| @[Symbolic3001:890] fables are fictitious/made up stories...in the case of this song I am taking it to mean lies. He's basically feeling hopeless against all the lies because there are so many of them, or the it's so strong it's taking over. He is submerged in them, like you are in water when you drown. Instead of swimming to try and save himself, he just loses hope and says "why bother?". He may be giving up because he thinks he won't be believed, or he feels powerless to fight against them. | |
