In my opinion I think the song is about suicide; Ever wonder why white clouds take flight in the middle of the night, just chasin' thunder's tail? ~(The clouds are being compared to humans who deliberately put themselves in dangerous situations such as suicide)~ Ever wonder 'bout you and me at the bottom of the sea, while both our souls set sail? ~(drowning)~ Ever think about me at night, how I'm never too kind? Follow me, 'cause you know I'll fail ~(This part makes me think of possible reasons for suicide)~ Make you wonder about heading home where your lovers can't roam, stab your back, throw you down the well ~(This part is about giving up and just wanting to get away from everyone, even the ones you love who supposedly love you too but hurt you anyways)~ You ever think about both our mouths 'round the barrel of a gun? Make it fast, won't feel a thing ~(shooting yourself)~ Ever think about hangin' out from the limbs of the tree, swing above our buried rings? ~(hanging yourself)~ You ever think about givin' up? Take the pills in that cup, sleep forever if you knew you could? ~(overdosing on drugs)~ Make me think about cuttin' close to the veins that hold love, let them bleed out on the wood ~(cutting yourself)~ ..............and so on |
