| Mastodon – Gigantium Lyrics | 4 years ago |
| I think this might be the best Mastodon song ice ever heard. Possibly because it\'s a massive ending of such a captivating album that feels like an emotional rollercoaster. The structure I\'d the song and the moment the song turns around and this amazing riff starts playing with Brann\'s amazing vocals over it...goosebumps all over! The song grabbed me and is holding me tight ever since I first heard it... I think I may have listened to it over 500 times since it was released and I just can\'t get enough of it. The pure brilliance is exceptional. BTW... I think the whole album is a true masterpiece!! | |
| Riverside – Lament Lyrics | 4 years ago |
|
I think this is about a father grieving for the loss of his son during a war... It seems like he has some hope left that one day his son will come back, as he hears him asking for help, but he knows the chance is very very small. the frustration of being helpless as a parent while your kid is in an extremely dangerous situation flows through the song as well... |

| Journey – Winds Of March Lyrics | 9 years ago |

I suppose it's about either the love for a child or, my guess, the love for a child that has passed away, which would make sense since they sing I covered you with roses, and covered with joy to make their lifetime bog and bright... it could be either way though since the song was apparently written by Neal Schon's father... |

No explanation or whatever... Just want to say that this song is so damn brilliant! some of the lines in here are so genius and extremely well written. "If you catch a tiger by the tail, don't fail" is high on top of my list of brilliant lyrics! And besides the lyric, there's the perfect combination with the music. It all works so perfect!! One of the best songs out there :) |

| Pink Floyd – Sheep Lyrics | 11 years ago |
|
The fact that this song was one of the strongest political statements in a time when Punk was at its peak, says a lot! Even punk rockers like Sex Pistols, The Clash and Buzzcocks didn't dare to go as far as Pink Floyd did with Sheep. A direct hit at Thatcher's way of ruling the UK with an iron fist and the people accepting every bit of shit without the smallest fight... I have always interpreted it as Sheep being the people, Dogs being the law and corporate industry and Pigs being the government. The Dogs are instructed by the Pigs to keep the Sheep down, while acting like their best friends. And at the end the Sheep finally are fed up with everything resulting in a (civil) war. I might be completely off, but since they were already protesting a lot, this seems like a logical way to go :). |

| Hozier – Take Me to Church Lyrics | 11 years ago |
|
@[david52665:823] @[Procrastin8:824] I agree with both of your statements! Nicely explained :) From what I understood the High Horse/Stable part also refers to the child (boys!) abuse that's been going on for years, while even the pope acts like it's not really happening... This whole song seems like big fat kick in church's hypocrite nuts. |
