| my interpretation is that, it's about an unrequited love that he is holding on to. he has nothing with out this love. but the person doesn't even know him. his insecurities are taking him over, and the love is the only thing he can hold on to without being totally overwhelmed in his mind. he wants to be free from his other side and maybe suicidal thoughts. he wants this love and to be known. he knows this love is the only thing he has. without the person he is a goner. | |

this is just my interpretation but to me it feels like an unrequited love. the beginning sounds like he was admitting his crush to a girl, and her realization for what he means. and him saying he would be with her if she wanted. then "this can't be the end" sounds like she rejected him and he was devastated. the chorus is the feelings he's having after that, and him crying and wanting her love and needing her. he feels extremely down. the second verse sounds like she is avoiding him and when they make eye contact she is pushing him away and he hates it. and "i'll take you over if you let me" is that he will always be there if she wants. "you did this" is him blaming himself for feeling terrible and heartbroken. the chorus is the feels taking him over again. he wants to be in love with her, he needs her. |
