| I think this is about someone with anger issues, the first chorus refers to he/she holding the anger back which leads into the fast aggressive part of he/she blowing up in someone's face. Then saying he/she feels good when he/she releases their anger but wished they never did it. The chorus repeats i.e the cycle repeats of them holding it back and then blowing up. The "you haven't learned a thing I haven't changed a thing" part refers to the aftermath of he'/she realizing that getting angry and blowing up in someone's face fixes their problem in no way shape or form. "Goodbye" refers to hem saying goodbye to the feelings kept inside right as they release them. "My eyes are red and gold, the hair is standing straight up" is them turning into an intimidating monster. "I wipe it off the tile" is saying they brush the blow up off as no big deal. "Everything is 3-D blasphemy" is probably the toughest line to interpret, but I think 3-D is a metaphor for technology. What does technology do? Makes everything go by quicker. Blasphemy is an insult to the quickness i.e he/she doesn't like how fast everything is going. Which connects to "is it a dream or a memory?" saying it all happened to fast for them to remember. Everything else is self explanatory except for "I have sinned by just making my mind up and taking your breath away" which means he/she is saying they are a bad person for just forcing their opinions on someone and not letting them speak. | |

Even though this interpretation may not be correct, this connects to my own personal problems so this is how I think of it: Basically, the song about being clingy and/or needy and what it's like. "Stapled shut, inside an outside world and I'm Sealed in tight, bizarre but right at home" - this refers to being stuck being a certain way that people find unusual but it's what you think makes you happy. "Claustrophobic, closing in and I'm Catastrophic, not again" - This is saying this neediness has gotten out of hand and it's happening with people you aren't meaning for it to happen with "I'm smeared across the page, and doused in gasoline" - This refers to the needy person being sensitive about everything they do and they think it's wrong "I wear you like a stain, yet I'm the one who's obscene" - this is saying the clingy person tries to be as close to others and possible and care about them, yet they are the unmoral or unusual ones "Catch me upon all your sordid little insurrections, I've got no time to lose, and I'm just caught up in all the cattle" -This is the clingy person telling the person they are clinging to that they will do whatever they want them to do, and them thinking that they have to make sure they please everyone whilst doing so. "Fray the strings Throw the shapes Hold your breath And listen!" - This is the clingy person saying that the person can change them and mess them up all they want as long as they pay attention to the clingy person "I am a world before I am a man" - saying that they are a little bit of everyone rather than their own individual "I was a creature before I could stand" - saying that they were off-putting before they learned to stand up for themselves "I will remember before I forget Before I forget that!" - saying they will use these experiences as a life lesson "I'm ripped across the ditch, and settled in the dirt and I'm I wear you like a stitch, yet I'm the one who's hurt" - saying the clingy person knows they are in a problem but they've settled and don't care "Pay attention to your twisted little indiscretions" - saying the people should be careful what they say because the clingy person is sensitive "I've got no right to win, I'm just caught up all the battles" - even though the clingy person changes for others, they still aren't liked "Locked in clutch Pushed in place Hold your breath And listen!" - saying they are forever attached to the people and they want them to pay attention to the clingy person "My end It justifies my means" - the clingy person wants to treasure the interactions with everyone they meet before they can't see them anymore "All I do is delay I'm given time to evade" - saying even though the clingy person knows this is a problem they do nothing to fix it "The end of the road is my end" - if the attention were to stop the clingy person would break down (Just my opinion and how I hear it) |
