I think that this song is about a guy that has a best friend of whom he appears unappreciative towards, but on the inside he is really in love with her. It's plain to see that he's infatuated with "Sophie", though she doesn't know his true feelings. I had to do a video interpretation of this song for media, and I think it is implied that she dies before he gets to tell her he loves her. In the lyric "When I say drive safe, I mean it today" I think that was kind of an insight as to how she will die; in a car accident. |
