I feel like this song is pretty self-explanatory. When you are just alone in silence, your thoughts can consume you. Especially, when you have dark thoughts, it can be easy to get overwhelmed by them. Tyler (the singer and writer) can't find anymore distractions, and he is left alone with his thoughts. |

I agree with all the things other people have said, but I feel that maybe this is a different type of love, perhaps, a forbidden one. In the Bible it says that if a man lay with another man he shall be stoned, which would explain the line "stoned in paradise". Being with this other person is his paradise, but he knows other people would not approve. Even if it is not a homosexual relationship, it is forbidden, as shown through the line "we don't talk about it". All the lyrics throughout the song suggest that this is a love that they have to keep secret. |
