It's quite obvious this song is about a person who is having suicidal thoughts, but throughout the song he is trying to say that you should keep on loving. When he says "It's alright to cry, even my dad does sometimes" It talks about how even the toughest people suffer, or "It's alright to die, that's the only thing you haven't tried" means that after you have lived your full live and are old it's okay to finally die, but when he says "But just for tonight hold on" he is trying to say that it's not your time to die yet. Basically every time it says "Its alright to... Even ______ does sometimes" it means that it is okay the way you are feeling and how you are expressing yourself because at the end of the day everyone has gone through that and those things are what makes you human. I believe that the beginning of the chorus "So live life like you're giving up, cause you act like you are" means that if you want to act pessimist it's okay, but you'll have to stay alive and not to actually give up. The it says, "Go ahead and just live it up" is like try to make the best of it. Lastly, "Go on and tear me apart" I feel this line talks about how you can say bad things to him and hurt him to relieve pain and stress. |
