That Handsome Devil – Pills for Everything Lyrics 11 years ago
in this song a cocaine dealer tries to convince himself and his customers that doing the substance is fine, and that addiction isn't a problem. many addicts use various pills to fight the side effects of withdrawal in an attempt to make quitting easier:

[Don't worry 'bout it, man, there's pills for everything.]

however, while he clearly convinced malory, jimmy, and holly, he acknowledges that cocaine use isn't nearly as easy to control as he made it out to be, that he has created an awful impact on their lives. furthermore, he doesn't care:

[I could have done something looking back, I suppose]

sounds awfully apathetic, &

[I used to have pity, now I don't have any.]

makes it very clear. he's in it for the drugs & money, and doesn't care who's livelihood he crushes while obtaining them.

[I wanna get up
I wanna get down
I wanna feel so good so bad
I don't want it around

I need to get up
I need to be free
I need to get them God damn
Pills far away from me]

he also acknowledges that pills haven't done much for himself, either, and that he struggles with addiction as well. he wants to stop taking the pills, and instead get some blow in his system.

finally, the sample at the end of the grown man bullying the child - the man is addiction personified, and the child is the addict falling victim to the drug's grasp

[Please, that hurts, don't do it any more] - withdrawal
[Are you gonna be on my side if I let you up?]
[Sure, I'm on your side. just let me up, I'll do anything you say.] - taking more to make the pain stop
[You're on my side]
[I'm on your side] - admitting defeat
