Interpol – All the Rage Back Home Lyrics 11 years ago
@[obstacle2:6] I love your interpretation of the song, and think it is right on the spot. I would like to add the following:
- The first stanza is probably him leaving, breaking up with her in the process. However, "she swore love is never gone so easily", effectively convincing him to stay in a relationship.
- When he says "behave, you want to leave my lady lover
Of my eighteen summers, alone", means that he does not want her to ruin the image that he has of her while abroad. Distance changes people, and he doesn't want his image of her to be tainted.
- Alternatively, "you gonna see my face in lights" might mean that she will not have anything to hide
- Alternatively, "I keep falling" might mean more of a mental breakdown rather than cheating; depression produced by the thought that she is not being true
