| I think this song is about kicking back, having a drink, and just having fun. Not everything has to have a deep meaning/depressing story. That might be why she referenced Kurt Cobain...he wrote a lot of songs with deep meanings, but he also wrote songs that literally made no sense and were just jokes (Smells Like Teen Spirit, anyone?). | |

I think this is a swipe at America... "Do you think His favorite type of human Is Caucasian Do you reckon He's been done for tax evasion" She's referencing how racism in America and the real estate collapse of '08. "Do you think he's any good At remembering people's names Do you think he's ever taken Smack or cocaine I don't imagine He's ever been suicidal His favorite band Is Creedence Clearwater Revival" She's referencing how the "great" leader of America used to be a druggie. "Ever since he can remember people Have died in his good name Long before that September Long before hijacking planes" She's talking about how America has killed countless of innocent people in history (think Slavery--which is why she said the Caucasian thing earlier). "Do you think he's skint Or financially secure And come election time I wonder who he'd vote for" Again, referencing the US economy. Bush tanked the economy yet we voted for him twice. "And if there Is some kind of god Do you think he's pleased When he looks down on us I wonder what he sees" If America's this "christian" place why do they fight everyone and kill innocent people? |
