| Tame Impala – The Less I Know the Better Lyrics
| 10 years ago

This is about a love that went wrong. The couple has obviously broken up and now the guy is hearing all these rumors about what she's up to, who she spends time with and what she like now. He doesn't want to hear it, but can't help it. Hence, the less I know the better. Ignorance is bliss in this particular situation. He wants to get back with the girl, and he thinks he might have a shot until he notices her ignoring him. He's surprised that the girl he once loved would now be with some stereotypical jerk "eating in to all his bullshit". In the end he reduces the new guy to the stupid pickup line he used on the girl. |

@[awelty:627] I think it might mean that the guy in song can't make sense of his own feelings, he just knows he loves this person throughout all the confusion and emotions. |

This is the first Animal Collective song I heard. I remember the day I heard it too. My friend and I were riding our bikes on the coldest day of the year. My hands were frozen stiff around the handlebars but I was so happy I didn't even notice it. When we went home I played this song and instantly felt warm. Quite literally like fireworks going off inside of me whenever I listen. |

Every time I hear this song I'm reminded of the time I gave a friend of mine a ride to school. We hadn't spoken in two years, but I saw him walking and I offered to pick him up. It was awkward and quiet at first because we'd always wanted to be more than friends but never were. I put my music on shuffle and this song came on and I remember he asked me if I liked The Kooks. I suppose he was a fan himself and although I kept my eyes on the road, through the corner of my eye I could see him just sort of looking at me in a way he never had before. |

| Animal Collective – It's You Lyrics

I think this song is about someone discovering the feelings they have for someone else and not quite understanding them. At first they say "still going on", like a tiny crush is suggested, a spark of something. Then "stay. stop" like they are asking the person to stay a while longer while they figure out how they really feel. Now they are puzzled and ask "what's going on?" like do they really like this person, or are they just caught up in the moment? Finally they realize "it's you". You are what they've been searching for, the confirmation of the feelings they're experiencing. |

Every time I hear this song the only thing I can think of is a hopeless romantic chasing a girl that is always just out of reach. But he also feels like he's changed, hence "the boy I used to be". Though deep down he still tortures himself with the thought of being with the one person who still consumes his dreams. |

I believe this is a song about someone realizing all the good moments they've had with one particular person. The words that were spoken by "dim half light" represent the unsure feelings that he has towards their current status. The "scattered flashes of delight" represent fleeting moments of happiness that can't help but persuade him that everything is going to be alright. Even if just for a split second. |
