To me this is about a guy committing suicide, possibly by jumping off a bridge. Copes lyrics from the person committing suicides perspective and hopes from a friend or partners perspective. I really like the 2nd verse in Cope version which talks about everyone watching and relating a little while waiting for him to jump. |

To me this song is about not worrying about leaving your mark on the world. Its saying that everything you work towards will slowly fade after your gone and you will be forgotten. "it doesn't matter to me" I tell my self repeatedly. Is about how hard this is to come to terms with as a person. |
