This song is a tribute to 19th century French poet Arthur Rimbaud. The title is both a wordplay on Rimbaud's name, and a possible reference to his homosexuality. The verses in French are extracts from Rimbaud's poem "Jeune Goinfre". "He's jerking like an angel on the ladder of crime": a reference to the sexual themes present in his works, which were written at a very young age. Also a reference to his latter life, which was very chaotic. "He's everybody's child but nobody's fool": Once again a reference to Rimbaud's precocity and short artistic life(he stopped writing completely at the age of 20). |
