| Terence Trent D'arby – Let Her Down Easy Lyrics | 11 years ago |

This is a wonderful song and one of my favorites. To me, this song is about growing up and how unthoughful and unrespectful acting can damage a person massively, especially when it comes to sexuality. Of course, there is nothing wrong with making experiences, but it shouldn't necessarily be experiences to be ashamed of or experiences to regret later on. Terence Trent D'Arby sings that there is nothing he can do to cheat to you (the boy) and nature anyway. By this, he refers to the fact, that many young adults make their experiences with sexuality, girls lose their virginity and many guys are out "hunting" for young innocent girls to take their virginity, since many of them are innocent, naive and susceptible to the "velvet lies". But even though this "desire" has always been there and that it has always been that way in history, one should never forget to treat that girl respectfully. By sleeping with a virgin, one will always be a part of her life and she probably will never forget one. In the end, she is giving a gift and that every boy should honor that gift and treat the girl with respect. The song is an appeal to young men to be kind to the girls. Don't just fill her up, lie to her, play with her and leave her behind after you are done. You should always think about whether you want the girl to think back about you in the future and feel shame or anger, or if you want her to think about you in some good way. |
