This is just my personal interpretation, I think the song is supposed to be like an argument. But let's start with the chorus. I think the "sun" is your average-joe middle of the road lifestyle. Go to college, get job, have babies, die. The "moon" would be breaking off of the path to do what YOU want to do. So really, it makes sense that this song would be like an argument between father and son. The first verse hits me hard. "And then the night You're just another empty shadow No questions - no answers No one to scream at you". The subject of the song feels peace by finding his own way in life and not facing all of the timeless issues that come from the "standard' lifestyle. Your thoughts? |
