They just can't seem to make a bad song*
*except "The One", but I don't consider that even an adequate Foo Fighters song since it seems the band was forced into making it. |

Another thing to add...he's looking back at this event in hindsight; he "sees it all much clearer now". Although the day it happened was not very happy, the day he realizes what is said in the above post is a red letter day. There is no irony at all. |

This song is about him finally coming to terms with whatever the hell he had to come to terms with (probably a break up). He probably was backstabbed by someone ("I trusted misleading promises worth repeating"). The day is a red letter day (a day of happiness) because he realizes that this person who wronged him will "get what [he/she] deserves". And that, my friends, is a song meaning. |

This is my favorite song on the cd. But what's with the skipping songs? I don't think you realize, but usually artists put a lot of thought into the song order. For example, what would "I'll Catch You" be without "Close to Home" to compliment it and hype you up to the album's climax? What would the whole album be without "Holiday" as an opener? I never ever skip tracks on any cds I listen to because the song order is key to the understanding of the album. |

I read somewhere that this was Matt Pryor's song that he was most embarrassed about. It's kinda funny, I don't understand why...oh well.
btw, my first get up kids song with the original Red Letter Day...it's still my favorite to this day. |
