I relate to this song really well. I just went through a breakup. And the guy I was in a relationship with was a condescending, rude, hurtful, a-hole, who either hurt my feelings, made me cry, or made me angry at least once a week. And yet, I stayed with him. For three years, I was in a relationship with him, and I cried so much, and he'd apologize, and then I'd forgive him,and then a week later, he'd hurt my feelings and/or make me cry again. It was his kisses, the way he made me feel special, beautiful, and wanted, that kept me from leaving for so long. My friend just went through a breakup a month ago, and after hearing about the relationship from his side (as she wouldn't even talk to me), and him telling me this is his "theme song", it's a sad song. Her nickname for him was Superman. And he's a super nice guy, and from what I've been told, all she did was bring him down. Now he's happier, but he can still relate to this song, and I hope that one day, he'll find someone who appreciates him. |
