Sia is singing about a person who is hurt (probably from a past love) and they just want to feel anything besides the pain of heartbreak. So they turn to the seemingly best way; alcohol, pointless hook ups, drugs, and partying. It seems like a really bad song, encouraging people to turn to that after a break up, but it's very relatable for a lot of people. They just wan to forget. |

Once again like most of Snow Patrol's amazing songs it's a story of a relationship that's just not working like it did before. He's telling her that he's going to let her go because he wants her to be happy (even though it's not with him) Let me just say Snow Patrol is one of my all time favorite bands just because of how relatable their songs are. |

This fantastic song is talking about a classic story. Two people are in a relationship that isn't working out. One feels defeated and is tired of the emotions that come with the relationship. But the smaller person feels like without this relationship they'll be empty and alone- which scares them- so they try to hold on. The song is telling them that, that relationship doesn't define you. It may be the only thing you know right now- here in this moment- but you'll be alright after this is over. You may even be happier without them. |

I feel as if he's talking about a love that isn't completely working. The two love each other but they know it isn't going to work-which kind of scares them. All they know is this love. He's telling her even though they won't be together like before, that he'll always be there beside her. Really good song! |

This is personally what I think it's about just from listening to it a few times. The guy in this song is just getting out of a relationship that has left him feeling heartbroken and empty. So he goes out and has a one night stand trying to forget his ex. But he is in such a fragile state that he finds comfort in having that girl there, even though he knows there's not going to be anything out of the relationship. All he wants is someone there to hold him. |
