| Lamb of God – Shoulder of Your God Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| This song is about the earth and the overall effect of man upon it. Blythe refers to homo sapiens as the "apocalyptic conception" taking in the ideals of Christianity and monotheistic views of one omnipotent god. He is saying man is God's most hideous creature. Even the angel's eye are not safe from the tragedies that we commit. The black pasture would be earth without it's "shepherd" to guide it. He goes on to chemical use in society to ease all our stresses. No doubt a reference to pharm drugs, booze, and drugs. He notes that we create our own kind of global agitation that leads people to houses of prayer, which have unfortunately no answer. We cry on the shoulder of god for answers to our own doing. | |
