I'm interested to know what happened! I just got the album from a clearance at Half Price Books, for a buck XD, and it's really good! They don't seem excessively different than some other bands, but then again definitely not copy-cats. I don't really know, all I know is they are really good whether they sound like other bands or not. And I think they're awesome! I heard from Wikipedia they posted somewhere saying they were working on new material! Truth? Hm... |

I suppose this song can have two meanings: Figuratively, it could mean what MatZ said. Well, figurative meanings aside, this song could be about people lost at sea (MrPeppers I believe is in this "boat" if you will :P). Perhaps it means something like this as well: Sometimes, when people are greatly depressed, they don't tell anyone. And this song is saying how if they finally "Drown" in their depression and kill themselves, that they won't make a sound because of the nature of their issues. "At the bottom you'll find out, that it's quiet when you drown", Meaning when you "hit rock bottom" that you'll find out if you killed yourself no one would even hear your pain. Idk, this meaning is too dark really XD. I like the other two better, I don't care to go on trying to explain my thoughts on my proposed possible meaning, but most likely it is indeed a mix of what the writer feels like going through life troubles and a story of being lost at sea. So that's pretty much it for me. Awesome song, first on the CD ^_^ |

Gotta say, I was about to post an interpretation until I saw people saying it was about 9/11, but that makes sense enough. The lyrics are kindof cryptic in a sense, but pretty obvious really, as with most songs. |

I don't really get why a lot of people think this song is about taking chances and not looking back. As much as I hate to admit it, I think this song is about something a little bit more disturbing. Especially with the added, very hard to understand lyrics from the softer part of the song: [That's why I write it down, left it there with the blood out of my hands to stare at and it drops right down It dried and I turned around and the blood was a small price to pay it made it real it made it real because I write it down, left it there with the blood on my hands to stare at and it drops right down It dried and I turned around the and the blood was a small price to pay it made it real it made it real…] This, and the song in general (Write it on the walls and read it Blood red so you can see it Life leaking out Write it on the walls and read it Until there are no secrets So safe and sound At least for now) Lead me to believe this song is about a person who is going through so much life trouble, that they can't handle it anymore. So to cope, they probably cut themselves and the take the blood to paint on a wall, in words, what they are going through. Hence, the lyrics "Bright Red so you can see it", "Life leaking out", "until there are no secrets", "So safe and sound, at least for now", meaning they feel safe and sound and as if they can cope, at least for now, at least for now because people who struggle with cutting and such will want to do it again later, so even though this person feels better after bleeding and writing all their issues on a wall for everyone to see and read (until there are no secrets), they will inevitably feel the urge to relapse. It's really about a sad psychological issue, about a person who can't deal with their life so they write on a wall in their own blood to "Make it real", and "the blood was a small price to pay" to "make it real". I hope this doesn't ruin the song for anyone, but this band is classified as an "emo" band sometimes, even though they are also classified as "Pop punk" and such. As unfortunate as it may be, this meaning makes perfect sense to me. Don't let it bring you down, though, you don't have to cut to cope. Just remember God is always with you, and pray about whatever troubles you and it will all work out in the end. You don't even have to worry about it anymore, He'll take care of it and even though you may still have trouble, just remember that things can always get better if you trust Him. :) Oh, and FYI, I like this song a lot ^_^.
